We exist to challenge traditional norms around work and career. While the world teaches us to view work as a transactional tool for survival, we believe our work is a powerful channel for self expression and a meaningful way to contribute to the world around us.

I started Silly Sapiens to help people gain agency over their work and use it to increase their impact.
With 20 years of experience as a human behavior researcher and innovation strategist, I’ve studied the intricacies and nuances within humans in over 40 countries. My journey around the world revealed that most people’s true value—their Genius—is buried and encrypted under layers of cultural conditioning, making it largely unseen and underutilized.
Sadly, this internal code, hidden within us, often grows more obscure with time as we pursue traditional career paths. This is tragic because without a clear understanding of our true value, we often become pigeonholed and stuck in our careers, feeling like we have no agency over our work and lives.
I knew this feeling well because growing up my dad faced frequent layoffs as a function of his industry, plunging our family into a period of strain. It felt like we always had to be in fear, at the mercy of the market’s whims.
In my career, I faced a similar situation when my industry changed, and I lost control over my work and time. I had to navigate intense, often unethical politics and became trapped in a cycle of acquisitions that drained my once-fulfilling work. With my skills rooted in my industry, I felt stuck, just like my dad—exactly what I had hoped to avoid.
I didn't want to end up bitter and detached like the executives around me, so I used my research techniques on myself to uncover the nuances that made me valuable, just as I had with my study participants, in an attempt to innovate myself out of my industry.

As I taught others to use my tools, I noticed that when they recognized their true value beyond their current roles or industry, they could adapt their expertise to emerging career opportunities and regain agency over their work.
Now I help people uncover their true value–their Genius–because knowing our value and how to apply it empowers us to see more opportunities, dream bigger, and feel safe.
Given the enormity and complexity of our world’s problems, our human ingenuity is too valuable to waste on soul-crushing, transactional work. We can't simply numb ourselves into retirement anymore; we have to innovate ourselves into more valuable and useful contributors.
